Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has hit back at former Osun governor, Rauf Aregbesola, over his claim that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) would take control of Aso Rock and Lagos Government House in 2027.
Reacting in a statement on Saturday, APC spokesperson in Lagos, Hon. Seye Oladejo, said Aregbesola’s boast was nothing more than a desperate bid for relevance, describing it as “political suicide of the highest order.”
Oladejo accused Aregbesola of attempting to destroy the same political platform that elevated him from commissioner in Lagos to governor of Osun and later minister, insisting that “betrayal is not a political strategy.”
According to him, the ADC made a mistake by projecting Aregbesola as its arrowhead, stressing that such a move would only lead the party to failure.
“Lagos and Nigeria are not conquered by soundbites. Our people vote for performance, not fairy tales. The APC’s record is visible on the roads, in our schools, in our hospitals, and in our reforms,” Oladejo said.
He added that Nigerians would reward APC for delivery in 2027, while Aregbesola and the ADC would face “a reality check” at the polls.
